8 Months!!!!

This 8 month photo is absolutely terrible but getting him to stay still (or really I was rushing to fit it in, when he was cranky) is hard! So this will have to do. He kinda looks like a different kid in half of them... but the pictures he looks the best in is what he looks like in real life lol.
He is just learning to move all around and discover all types of things. He is starting to notice more things around... not just baby tunnel vision... he still loves doing raspberries (aka the spits) at inappropriate times, when he should be sleeping!!!!
His smile is just the BIGGEST and makes me laugh!!!
He is still a very good shopping buddy, and  all around very good boy.

Sorry (self) and whoever else may read this... this is very lame... but this weekend was long (new car weekend!!!!) we got rid of the car we brought this gorgeous boy home in... just to get a newer, larger one and today he went to visit grandmom's house. So it's time for these parents to relax...

Soon we'll be at 9 months! September 16th will be here before we know it.

Catching up

Finally getting around to just posting some catch up pictures.... I need to use the camera more. Having your phone so close makes it hard to use an actual camera (considering I don't know how to work ours other then point and shoot) so all the super cute ones are on my phone! Should I figure out how to use instagram? Sure, but I have bigger priorities lately. When I get caught up on those... instagram here I come!!!!
But here's some stuff the baby is up to these days....

You know as parents, when you are actually all showered and dressed you want to take photos... Holy god all the ones we took for this wedding were so so so bad. It's a sad reminder you're just not as good looking as you think.... But for documentation purposes... This was may so he was a little over 5 months.

A sweet, tired baby. We actually gave him benadryl for the first time the night before this... because the shore house gave him a weird rash... he was so tired all day the next day.
Just a cute baby, on the beach.
We scoot now... these are from this month. So we skipped some time in between (read the top- cell phone pics) he is a scooter....
We got rid of our carpets last month, so poor kid has a blister on his foot from using it to push himself all over the new laminate! I feel like a terrible mom.....
Oh this was from July! He is highly enjoying the mesh feeders. We use strawberries, and bananas, and grapes. He seems to like the grapes the best strangely enough....
Babies love balloons... also from July.
We are trying to use his high chair a little more... he still doesn't like to be squashed at the tummy. So the chair is loungin' realllll far back... so after he eats I give him these (potential choking hazards) ice things that you freeze and use for keeping things cold (do they have a name!?) and he chews on them. He keeps him entertained for ten minutes... so I'll take it...
 He's cute....
I love love love this picture. I put him in the chair the proper way (but not strapped in) and he moved himself like this!!!!!!!!! The air conditioning broke for a week... so he was hot and trying to get comfy I guess lol...
Eating baby mum-mums like a big boy! (august)
Just a lovely close up of the aftermath....
This might be my favorite picture of him ever... he looks gorgeous. Love this kid.... look at the little toes in the background.

As I mentioned, we had no air FOR A WEEK. It was torture. I can survive without air... we grew up with window units... and slept without it in our rooms and we surely survived. But atleast we had windows. Here, not so much. We only have 3 downstairs and one is broken. It was so hot. I am rather proud of myself, looking back, that I survived with a 7 month old and no air. We were very sticky, and whiney. Both of us lol. And I didn't even leave the house all that much because I was TOO HOT to pack us up. Ridiculous right? Either way... go me!

I will be back later this week for the 8 month picture :) :)

I hope the Internet never goes away....

I hope this blog will always be around because I am constantly telling myself to write down the memories.
To keep a journal, or make a scrapbook, (this goes along with my last post long ago) that you kinda are who you are... at least me... I want to do things differently for our baby... but scrapbooking has never been my thing. I doubt it will start now.
So with a blog, youre like well it's been so long whats the point now. But tonight, I felt it was time. Who knows when I'll get back to it.
Tonight, I went to a concert with Daddy and his sister and brother... I saw a guy there who was in a wheelchair and (as usual) my eyes filled up with tears. I am so lucky.  I am so so so so so so so so so lucky to have a healthy, perfect baby. Everyday he gets smarter and more aware. He crawls now, his own scoot crawl... not on all fours. but he gets around fast. He is eating baby mum-mums and anything we eat when we go out together I will give him some. He sits in the cart at target... he falls over, but still. It's helping him get stronger. He chases after the cats in the walker and wants to touch the air vents and anything else he shouldn't be.
Oh and that smile. He has TWO TEETH! He got them at about 7 months.. he is almost 8 now. He didn't cry much... just a little whiney for a day or two... but he still just lights up all the time when he see's us... or anyone really. Everyone tells us how gorgeous he is... and how beautiful his eyes are. It's ironic considering the whole time I was pregnant, i just kept saying... this kid better be cute... and he is the cutest.
He loves to grab our hair, and open his mouth wide and try to attack our faces. It sounds ridiculous but it's adorable. Painful but adorable. You want to be tough and say no but you can't help yourself but let him.

I am constantly thanking life for giving us such a wonderful baby. Even if he's fussy, or whining up a storm, or getting mad because his spoon food has ended... he loves us... and we love him. I hope his mostly loving demeanor stays over the course of the next few years... I hope I can teach him to be patient... even when his food is done. I hope he knows how much we love him... he gets a million kisses and "i love yous" a day. I hope he knows he will always have the most perfect place in my heart... my first baby boy...

My kid probably won't wear sneakers.

This dawned on me tonight when I saw a picture of a girl on a blog in her sneakers and socks and it hit me that my baby probably wont wear sneakers often. I also realized that the way you do things will probably be the way you do things for your kids and not to think otherwise. Before baby was born I bought him numerous coats, fluffy bear suits and outwear options that he wore maybe once. (along with many other fancy outfits that he wore for maybe an hour) and I realized, I don't wear coats ever. That's probably why I never made him wear them. I just threw some blankets on him and called it a day. The weather wasn't terribly cold this winter either which helped.

So it just gets you to thinking what else will you impose on your child even if you think you'll do a better job with them. Some things are fine... like sneakers. I am more of a slip on shoe kinda gal, sneakers and socks just aren't my thing. Coats, okay maybe I should work on that because other people will probably look at me and wonder where my kid's coat is. Eating is a huge worry. I am a terrible terrible eater. At this point in my life I eat... ice cream, candy, starbucks, progresso macaroni and bean soup, cookies, rice and vegetables and that's basically it. I am a terrible eater. I don't really eat meat except for every so often lunch meat or bacon but only if I cook it myself. So blah blah I could go on and on but you get the point this is a problem. I tell myself I will make him a better eater but I really don't know how. I also hope I can be more outgoing for him. I hope he feels confident to talk to anyone and make them feel engaged. I am terrible at small talk... and sometimes I don't care much to talk to anyone but sometimes I just don't think to do it. So I hope I can let him be more social and experience more than I ever cared to....

We are going on vacation next week with my family!!!!!!!!!! So I will post those pictures when we return and maybe another post before I go. Sorry for no pictures... I need to take more..... but mostly he is naked all day and just drooling and chewing at things.
He was so fussy today which I think was because of his teeth :( I hope tomorrow is a better day for him.

I think I passed the test...

I always wondered what happens when moms get sick. I thought I couldn't do it... but I kinda did. Daddy helped me by coming home a little early for two days but for the most part... I survived. I actually felt worse when not with the baby because I had time to notice I felt like death. I rarely get sick so I was surprised it happened only 5 months into his life... but either way I made it! It may seem small to most people but when you're sick your mom takes care of you... or dad or husband... so now that I'm a mom I am glad I survived. Just another step on the journey of learning how this all works...

Lately I have been thinking, as much as I've battled with staying home and making the husband feel like this was too hard and maybe I couldn't do it... and I missed worked or maybe just feeling important.. the past few days I have been thankful.

I go to bed almost every night holding the baby's hand. How wonderful is that. Even though I still get him every time he cries and am constantly sitting by his side, 95% of the time I know he is crying because he's just really dramatic. He is bored of his toy... or think he wants more bottle... or he's just being silly. But at night I get to watch him giggle and smile so big at daddy at I when he should be asleep and not have to worry about going to work in the morning. I know how many times he played the binky game with himself and I am still always amazed by it. There are so many things that I know and if I was at work I would miss it all. I know I will look back when he is older and be so thankful that I got to be apart of it all. So that's all apart of to walk and to listen....

I know this wasn't exciting but I passed my test :)

Someone is 5 months today !

You guessed it! It's the precious baby!

Here's a look back...
Mr. Mr.'s Birthday :)

1 month

2 months

3 months

4 months

5 months :)
Clearly those were done in no particular fashion lol just found pictures from the date. Maybe with my next child I'll do a better job!
Anyway so today, May 16th he turned 5 months!!!!!!!
He made lots of little noises today, and talked to himself at our friend Rachel's house and at the store. He rolls over like a champ all the time and basically has no tolerance for his back anymore while playing.
He still eats every 3-4 hours and is still on his yucky nutramigen but he doesn't seem to mind. He still likes bananas and applesauce and sometimes sweet potatoes. Whatever the food, he surely enjoys eating his bottles and from the spoon! He is not yet in his high chair but I will be putting that together soon.
He will sit in his exersaucer for short periods of time, and his walker, and on his tummy on the boppy to keep him entertained.
He loves his toys... and smiling at me and daddy and family and random people at target :)

We go to the doctors on Friday to look into potential allergies so I will post his weight and what not then.

Currently he still sleeps in his crib with some binky wakes up through out the night... but he has been sleeping with us in bed due to him rolling over in his crib. I am worried he'll roll over onto his face.. so just to be safe he is in the bed until he figures out how to sleep comfortably.
He is generally a happy baby... we laugh and play and give kisses and it's a lovely time.

As always, I am so thankful for this adorable little man and I love watching him grow.
Happy five months mr. mr. man.
